Main Street Station, Richmond, Virginia

A northbound Amtrak train pauses at the magnificent Main Street Station in Richmond. Built in 1901, Main Street Station was used by Chesapeake & Ohio and Seaboard Air Line (and later Amtrak) until it was damaged by flooding in 1972 and Amtrak pulled out in 1975. The station then suffered fire damage in 1976 and 1983, but was ultimately restored with rail service returning in 2003.
