A Delaware & Hudson freight departs the East Binghamton yard. Guilford owned the D&H until 1988, when it suddenly abandoned it; the New York, Susquehanna & Western took over as the federally designated operator until Canadian Pacific bought the line in 1991. D&H GP38-2 has its D&H lettering with Guilford's G painted out.
