When Connecticut DOT decided to paint its locomotives for Shore Line East service into the old New Haven paint scheme, it was nothing short of a miracle. When the first FL9 rolled out in the classic paint, the New Haven Railroad Historical & Technical Association sponsored a fan trip called the "Yankee Clipper" to give the locomotive its proper debut. One of the highlights of the trip was a photo runby at Auburn, Mass., where plenty of film was burned on the fresh 2019.
